2024-25 PBA COMMISSIONER'S CUP SEASON STATS | TNT TROPANG GIGA

Over a decade ago, Chot Reyes led a star-studded Talk 'N Text squad—featuring Jayson Castro, Kelly Williams, and the likes of Jimmy Alapag, Larry Fonacier, Ali Peek, Ryan Reyes, Harvey Carey, and Ranidel de Ocampo—on a quest to become the PBA’s fifth Grand Slam team. But their run fell short, thanks to Arwind Santos and the Petron Blaze Boosters.

Instead, the San Mig Coffee Mixers etched their names in history, and no team has won three straight conferences since.

That’s what makes TNT’s Commissioner’s Cup triumph all the more compelling. With two-time Best Import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson ready to wreak havoc every night and Chot Reyes out to silence his critics, the stakes couldn’t be higher. TNT finished the eliminations tied for second behind NorthPort, then took care of business against Hong Kong Eastern in the quarterfinals before stopping Rain or Shine in the semis to set up yet another Finals clash with Barangay Ginebra.

This marked their sixth Finals showdown, with Ginebra winning twice and TNT claiming the last two—thanks largely to RHJ. And in what will go down as one of the greatest Game 7s in league history, TNT captured their 11th championship. Hollis-Jefferson bagged another Best Import award, while Rey Nambatac, stepping up in Jayson Castro’s absence, earned his first Finals MVP honor.
