2025-26 PBA PHL CUP POWER RANKINGS | START TO END OF ELIMINATION ROUND

ree

It’s incredibly tough to dislodge June Mar Fajardo from the No. 1 spot in any PBA power ranking. He’s basically owned that seat for the better part of a decade. But every so often, the basketball universe glitches.

Someone puts up import-like numbers, one of June Mar’s teammates goes nuclear in the other stat categories, and suddenly the usual order gets shaken up.

Add an emerging generational talent to the mix, and the plot thickens.

With the eliminations done and dusted, the surprise at the top is Calvin Abueva. Even though the Titan Ultra Giant Risers are already out of contention, this conference proved that “The Beast” is far from washed. His run is almost reminiscent of Nelson Asaytono carrying San Miguel in the mid-90s as their lone superstar, dropping nearly 25 a game back in the day. The key difference?

Asaytono didn’t have a running mate as statistically loaded as Joshua Munzon.

Abueva does.

And yet, he still gets his numbers.

And when you look at why June Mar slips to No. 2, you can’t ignore Cjay Perez. “The Baby Beast” has been pumping in big scoring nights for San Miguel, while Don Trollano and Jericho Cruz have also seen their numbers rise. When your teammates are all eating that well, your individual dominance doesn’t look quite as lonely at the top.

But here’s the twist: even with Abueva’s monster stretch, Titan Ultra’s conference is already over.

This leads us straight to Juan Gomez de Liaño.

I said this a year ago, and I still believe it — Juan GDL needed to escape the benchwarming purgatory of his overseas stints and come home to the PBA as the star he’s meant to be. And now, with Converge’s system humming and slowly chipping away at the league’s traditional power structure, he’s proving exactly why. He’s not alone either — Justine Baltazar and Justin Arana are both Top 10 guys as well.

If the rest of the league keeps developing legit top-tier talents like this, Season 50 might just be the year the PBA landscape finally shifts — where SMC and MVP teams are still great, but no longer tower over everyone else.

And with that, here are the rest of the names that cracked the list.
