With their own version of the twin towers in Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar, the Converge FiberXers remind many of the '90s Sta. Lucia Realtors. That Sta. Lucia squad never reached the PBA Finals, but with Jun Limpot and Dennis Espino at the helm, they were always a top-three threat. Similarly, Converge is an independent team loaded with youth and potential, and if this conference is a sign of what's to come, it's time to take them seriously.
They did fumble a key decision early on. The team parted ways with Jordan Heading in a failed attempt to acquire the rights to Mikey Williams. As a result, they lost Heading for nothing and also gave up their 2026 first-round pick to the incoming franchise that will take over Terrafirma’s spot.
Still, despite that misstep, Converge finished solo fifth at the end of the eliminations. Aside from the frontcourt duo of Arana and Baltazar, the team got valuable contributions from Schonny Winston, Alec Stockton, and former Pampanga Giant Lantern MJ Garcia.
Their season ended with a quarterfinal loss to Barangay Ginebra, but compared to their performance last year, this campaign feels like a major step forward. The win-loss record may not have led to a finals berth, but it showed that the FiberXers are heading in the right direction.
