LOYALTY SWAP | TNT FLIPS MIKEY WILLIAMS FOR JORDAN HEADING

I’ve said this before about TNT and Mikey Williams: the only way they’re letting him go is for a king’s ransom.

And frankly, that still holds.

TNT would rather gamble away their Grand Slam hopes than rejuvenate the career of a player they clearly don’t trust anymore. Let’s not forget, this is a guy who ghosted the team multiple times, only to return with import-level demands.

But wait—did Converge really float the name Jordan Heading?

Oh, yes please.

Suddenly, SMC’s decision to pluck Will Navarro from NorthPort makes a little more sense. Because in the PBA, if one power bloc (SMC or MVP) gets a shiny new toy, the other usually follows. It’s the league’s version of a canary in the coal mine.

TNT is chasing history, trying to become the first team since the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers over a decade ago to win a Grand Slam. And they’re doing it without Jayson Castro, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, and Rey Nambatac. That’s a tall order—especially when the first two titles were largely thanks to Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Now, with him gone, they need a spark—and Jordan Heading might just be it.

According to insider reports, Converge is dealing with internal chaos. Heading might be nursing back spasms now, but let’s be real: a lot of injuries mysteriously heal when a player changes jerseys.

And what’s going on over there, anyway? Charles Tiu’s resignation, BJ Andrade’s trade, and now the sudden disappearance of Ateneo guys like Matt Nieto, Inand Fornilos, and Pat Maagdenberg—all while former Pampanga Giant Lanterns like Justine Baltazar, MJ Garcia, and Ronan Santos start popping up on the roster.

Coincidence?

So now we’re talking about a potential swap: one combo guard for another. Mikey Williams for Jordan Heading. TNT gets a guard who already knows Chot Reyes’ system and could lead their next chapter, while Converge pairs Williams with Schonny Winston, Justin Arana, and Justine Baltazar—a core that could help Rain or Shine finally carry the flag for the independent teams.

Heading gets a fresh start in a more stable system, and Williams joins a rising squad with nothing to lose.

For once, this feels like a rare win-win trade.
