PBA GOVS CUP POWER RANKINGS | START TO AUGUST 1 | NOCUM TOPS LIST

On one hand, you have Rey Nambatac. TNT is working with a depleted roster, and as the conference wears on, more and more of its vital cogs have landed on the injured list. However, Sting Rey has turned this problem into an opportunity. In four of the Tropa's five games, he has scored at least 19 points, including the 30-point offensive explosion he unleashed against the Converge FiberXers.

On the other hand, we have CJay Perez. Normally, I commend players for working through pain, especially when the championship is on the line. That said, it's hard to root for Perez after he had an elimination round cameo against the lowly Titan Ultra in which he barely touched the ball and only drew a foul to pad his stats. Not only did all of his averages drop, but Perez also failed to continue his iron man streak after recording a DNP against TNT.

Anyway, RJ Abarrientos is slowly creeping into the Top 10, with June Mar Fajardo finally breaking into the Top 25.

However, the top spot belongs to Rain or Shine's Adrian Nocum. Against the Magnolia Hotshots, Nocum finished the game in a fashion that only the G.O.A.T.s of the sport can pull off. The former Mapua Cardinal held the ball, surveyed the situation, attacked the basket, and got the shot to fall. But beyond being just a scorer, Nocum is now thriving as Rain or Shine's combo guard, thanks or no thanks to Gian Mamuyac's departure.

Speaking of combo guards, coming in at second is Terrafirma's Maverick Ahanmisi. The older Ahanmisi took a backseat to his younger brother during the first two conferences of the season, but now he's reminding everyone of his all-around brilliance.

Meanwhile, after putting up import-like scoring numbers, Justin Arana's production has dipped significantly, causing him to fall to No. 4. He now sits behind NLEX's big-time quarterback Robert Bolick and just ahead of NLEX's rising star and potential Most Improved Player candidate, Schonny Winston.
