PBA GOVS CUP POWER RANKINGS | START TO OCTOBER 23 | END OF ELIMINATIONS

There has been some talk about why people are becoming less optimistic about Terrafirma's future next season. One of the reasons is that the team only has three players with assured contracts for the upcoming season: Geo Chiu, Chris Miller, and Juami Tiongson.

I don't really mind this because bottom-feeding teams with limited resources usually sign players to short-term deals. However, I think Maverick Ahanmisi should consider how valuable his current role is compared to joining a championship-contending squad that would likely relegate him to the bench, especially now that he's in his mid-30s.

I mean, we saw what San Miguel did with Juami Tiongson and Jerrick Ahanmisi this season. Basically, Tiongson was freed from the burden of warming the bench following his trade to SMB. Meanwhile, Jerrick is trying his best to reestablish himself as a prolific scorer while playing alongside a nine-time MVP and the core of their championship squad.

As for Juami, he now has a chance to cement his legacy as Terrafirma's undisputed all-time leading scorer.

When Maverick Ahanmisi requested a trade from Ginebra, one of the reasons he cited was his need for more playing time. Now that he has that opportunity, all he needs to do is help instill the winning mentality he brought to Terrafirma this season.

I mean, in terms of mediocrity, Terrafirma fared better than it did last season. So, in some ways, the move seems to be working.

Anyway, here are the rest of the players on the list.
