2022 PBA DRAFT | WHAT THEY GOT - BLACKWATER BOSSINGS

RD 1 PICK 1 – BRANDON GANUELAS-ROSSER
RD 1 PICK 11 – MARK DYKE
RD 2 PICK 21 – CHESTER SALDUA
RD 3 PICK 25 – DARYL PASCUAL
RD 4 PICK 37 – EARVIN ACE LACSAMANA
RD 5 PICK 45 – ARTHUR NAVASERO

I never thought it would be a good idea for me to slack.

Luckily, I did.

I still think that the Blackwater Bossings could have done better in this pick. It's like how the Boston Celtics traded down in the 2017 NBA Draft. Seeing that they could get the player they want even if they go several picks lower, they agreed to deal their top pick to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Boston would get Philly's #3 pick and the first-round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft for sacrificing the top pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.

Boston would get Jayson Tatum at #3 and Romeo Langford in 2019 while the Sixers would end up selecting Markelle Fultz.

Boston did well here.

Anyway, this is what Converge did when they used their picks to get Jeo Ambohot and Justin Arana while dealing for #7 pick Tyrus Hill and #9 pick Kurt Lojera.

But hey, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser could be something.

The younger Ganuelas-Rosser is going to help the Bossings with their lack of size - as he is expected to fill up their PF/C needs. With that said, the verdict is out on his gameplay as there is a chance that he's going to play with a thirst for outside jumpers. I guess this is why they got the services of Yousef Taha. The former Mapua force in the middle is expected to provide depth in the big man department. The only issue that I see here is that he's been bounced around a lot and I don't know if there will be takers in case they use him as trade bait.

Blackwater has another big man in their lineup - though a bit undersized in some ways. Confusing? Yup but... Mark Dyke is probably going to play a similar brand of basketball a la Willy Wilson. I don't really know much about Dyke's gameplay but Blackwater could use more offense and maybe he could transform his game in the same manner as Robbie Herndon.

The Bossings also selected Chester Saldua in the late second round, Daryl Pascual in the third, Earvin Ace Lacsamana in the fourth, and Arthur Navasero in the fifth round. I think Saldua and Pascual could get rosters spots but maybe Lacsamana and Navasero could either play for their 3X3 squad on a more prominent basis or just return to the MPBL to further hone their craft.

Blackwater could have shored up their roster but apart from the obvious choice of BGR, I think they could have done better. I think their backcourt is solid with JV Casio, Baser Amer, Rashawn McCarthy, Rey Suerte, Mike Ayonayon, and Paul Desiderio but part of me wants to think that they could have done better.

I really thought Lojera is a legit steal but maybe they know something we don't.
