When Tanduay Rhum returned to the PBA in 1999, they brought Eric Menk with them. It's like when you go to your reunion... with a one-man infantry battalion. I mean... this is how you ELEVATE a team from the semi-pro leagues to the PBA.

No offense to Welcoat but... whatever happened to Jay Sagad? I know he's American but the current international flavor of the PBA could have worked if they just let Alex Compton play.

Anyway as his name suggests, Major Pain unleashed major damage to his enemies. Menk would nonchalantly score and board and before you know it, he already scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. And then he would move to Ginebra in the shadiest of manners and this is where he transformed the squad into a contender. Despite sharing the scoring load with Jayjay Helterbrand and Mark Caguioa, Menk would become the first Ginebra player to win the Most Valuable Player award.

Now imagine Menk's injuries didn't ruin his career... he would have retired as a Gin.
