MANNY PACQUIAO VERSUS... YORDENIS UGAS!

Who in the holy hell is Yordenis Ugas?

Wiki tells me that he’s a 35-year-old fighter with a 26-4 record with 12 knockouts. Ugas won a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has topped his division in the World Championships, the CAC Games, and the Pan American Games.

Leading to the Manny Pacquiao match, the only notable opponent Ugas has faced is Shawn Porter. The American just bounced back from an Errol Spence Jr. loss and scored wins against Paulie Malignaggi, Adrien Broner, Andre Berto, and Danny Garcia.

Ugas is the WBA Super Welterweight Champion because Pacquiao didn’t want to defend the title.

Ugas is an orthodox fighter of Cuban descent. Spence is an American southpaw. Spence has a knockout rate of 78 percent while Ugas is a former Olympian who wins his bouts with points. Ten days leading to the fight, Pacquiao is going to face a fighter that is totally the opposite of what he trained for.

And just like what happened when Lehlo Ledwaba faced Manny Pacquiao two decades ago, the threat of an unknown fighter could be real.
