Standing just 5'7", Johnny Abarrientos defied every inch of doubt with a career that soared as high as his nickname. The floor general behind Alaska’s 1996 Grand Slam, Abarrientos became the smallest player in league history to win MVP, leading a juggernaut team with his court vision, clutch shooting, and feisty defense. A six-time Mythical Five selection, he also bagged two Finals MVPs and was a perennial presence on the All-Defensive Team. In his prime, he was so good that former NBA player Marques Bragg once vouched for him as NBA-ready talent. With 12 championships and a style that blended speed, smarts, and swagger, Abarrientos didn't just run the offense—he was the offense.
