I love how Red and Kitty Forman's contrasting parenting styles are on full display here.
And yet, their characters stood idly as the Randy nightmare ravaged Season 8.
So I am cautiously optimistic about That '90s Show.
At least the teens aren't characters based on the '90s lifestyle like what they did during That '80s Show. With that said, we only saw how Leia Forman is going to be in the series. She looks like the nerdy outcome of Eric Forman's parenting and I guess I know she's an only child.
And then, there's a Chinese kid.
Not to be racist but I hope they don't treat like how That '80s Show treated Corey Park. This show will either avenge the atrocity of that shitty character or just fuel my rage for the show to have some sort of un-funny version of Fez. Looking at their Wiki page, they also have a gay character. Now I don't know who Reyn Doi is, but he's working on the fact that he's a gay character in a '90s setup with oriental origins and I don't know if I watched any sitcom with that kind of setup during that era. More than being politically correct, I just hope he isn't too cautious and just goes apeshit with the foreign character.
At the end of the day, they can only do so much with Kitty's mother hen-ness and Red's foot-to-asses style of loving people. As I said, these characters stood idly when Donna's character went from being independent to becoming a woman who just needs a man in his life, the Randy character, and the Fez and Jackie love story. Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp are expected to lead the group but we also know that sooner or later, they are going to take a backseat for the kids. It's the same case with Eric, Donna, Fez, Jackie, Kelso, Leo, and however they would mention Hyde. We have seen cameos like what they did in How I Met Your Father and in the same breath, Cobra Kai, Fuller House, and Saved By The Bell. I thought Saved By The Bell is the perfect fusion of teens and old characters but for some reason, Netflix decided it was a cool idea to just cancel the series.
Please don't screw this up.
