THE NEXT PROJECT | 2000S COLLEGE STATS

In my twenties, I set out to compile as many PBA individual statistics as I could find. It may not sound glamorous, but over time I’ve managed to collect roughly 60 percent of the historical stats available — from league pioneers and 80s icons to imports who appeared in just a single game.
I don’t intend to overshadow the official PBA website, but with its redesign underway, I truly hope they incorporate complete alumni statistics. The MPBL already offers this level of detail, and it would be great to see the PBA adopt the same standard. Despite existing gaps, the PBA still maintains better historical records than both the UAAP and NCAA, whose data often disappears after each season.
Recently, while going through my old work CDs, I found a document containing Mike Cortez’s college stats. It brought me back to my early days as a copywriter at NBN-4, when I was gathering information for our coverage of the 2003 PBA Draft. If only I had preserved everything I researched back then.
That’s why I’m starting a new project — to recover and compile as many college stats as possible using Ubelt.com archives and other sources. It won’t be easy, but by 2027, I aim to have at least 100 players documented on my site.

You can use archive.org to check out statsboard.webnatin.com and inboundpass.com. Those websites have plenty of college statistics.
