Even in defeat, we all know how god-tier EJ Obiena's talents are.
And I get why he dropped to third behind gold medalist Armand Duplantis and silver medalist Sam Kendricks. He was 25 points ahead of Emmanouil Karalis though, to secure the third spot despite the Greek's bronze medal win. KC Lightfoot, who missed the Paris Games, was able to raise his rank to number 5.
Meanwhile, Chris Nilsen went from fourth to ninth after a disappointing qualifier.
Karalis went from 8 to number 4, but Turkey's Ersu Sasma climbed five spots from the pre-Olympic ranks. The biggest riser, Sondre Guttormsen, jumped 21 slots after an impressive Paris showing.
Huang Bokai, EJ's buddy, maintained his tenth spot.
Here are the Top 15 rankings.
Here are the ranks of the pole vaulters who also competed in the Olympics.
