JAYLEN JOHNSON | PBA STATS

This edition of the Import Rankings marks the return of Jaylen Johnson from suspension, along with the debuts of Clint Chapman and Justin Patton. It also highlights a growing realization—some imports aren’t here to dominate the stat sheet, but to simply play their role.

And maybe that’s where the disconnect lies with how Filipino fans view imports. For the longest time, we’ve been used to seeing them as larger-than-life figures—guys expected to drop 35 points and grab 18 rebounds on a nightly basis. So when an import averages below 25 and 15, it’s easy to label that as underwhelming.

But the game has evolved. There are teams perfectly content with imports who don’t monopolize the offense, players who instead blend into the system and help maintain chemistry. Sometimes, that balance is more valuable than raw production.

That said, if you do have a true game-changing import, then the blueprint is simple—build around him. That’s exactly what TNT and Ginebra have done with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Justin Brownlee. When you have that kind of presence, everything else naturally falls into place.

And just to be clear, this list isn’t about team standings—it’s about individual impact. Some imports are putting up numbers that reflect their teams’ success, while others are doing what they can for struggling squads. Either way, the rankings focus on what they bring to the table.
