Aria Inthavong is the Buzzfeed Unsolved demon spawn I didn't know I wanted.
I mean, when Ryan and Shane diverted their attention to ghost and spooky stories, Aria made his mark on true crime stories.
Inasmuch as I like the Supernatural content, the vlog that brought me to the original Unsolved series is the one with DB Cooper.
Anyway, with the Ghoul Boys doing their thing, I thought Aria and his whiteboard is killing it with his array of Buzzfeed content. From that creepy cursed song to just going at it with scammers, I get why people see him as the man in Buzzfeed Unsolved.
Sidenote: Why is his content on his channel?
Anyway... why is his content on his channel? Did he move out of Buzzfeed? He has yet to produce a "Why I left Buzzfeed" video and his Twitter bio tells us that he is still with the company.
Because here's the thing - I am virtually writing things on my blog for myself. He's a Youtuber with less than 50k subscribers and he's producing this financially-constraining endeavor.
Basically, Aria went to the Philippines to check the places with historical significance in terms of war crimes. Of course, he's going to Corregidor. I wish he went to the Manila Film Center with the people from Watcher.
Also, YES to My Way because for some reason... that song has turned into some sort of death call!
Historically though, I want to check out the Jabidah Massacre.
I think I'll be checking out the way he's going to deliver the cases. I am a history nut and most of the criminal cases in the Philippines at some point I have somewhat seen and heard.
"Somewhat seen" in the sense that I'm uneasy at the sight of death and blood.
Most foreigners get caught in the political side of things when reporting these cases. I get the reason for this since they have limited subjects to interact with but all of a sudden, the narrative pushes into something that can resonate badly with another side. Jabidah, Martial Law atrocities, and even the American Occupation are all political problems. Worse, Muslim cases have religious aspects attached to them.
I think Aria is going to bring out his content on May 1, 2022. I am doing this piece because I'm invested in how he'll tackle the Pinoy issues.
