K-DRAMA: THE KANYE IRVING STORY

I don't like Kyrie Irving because of what he did to my Boston Celtics.

First up, he was traded to underdog Isaiah Thomas. It's insane that Kyrie is the top pick of that year's draft while Thomas became the last pick of that said draft. Also, IT4's career was never the same after he left Boston.

Thomas never really wanted to go but I can understand why Danny Ainge initiated the trade. Getting a superstar for the 60th pick with chronic body issues is a plus in any way you look at it.

Surprisingly, I didn't really mind most of his antics.

Yes, what he did now is dumb. All he needed to do is take down the post without acting all high and mighty and yet, his pride got the better.

Music transcends basketball and if Kanye West can be drubbed by all outlets because of his sentiments, then what more for a basketball player who has had more DNPs than playing games? I don't care about his flat earth ways and probably, I won't mind Irving sitting out games because he is sad about the death of Kobe Bryant. Hell, he took a stand on his issues with the COVID-19 vaccine.

I don't think it's a good idea to become a public figure with anti-semitism ties.

Call it K-Drama, call him Kanye Irving or Kyrie West, and call this Kyrie-serye.

Irving is doing something even pre-schoolers know - studying and understanding and applying why people hate certain things. In people's eyes, the only reason why Kyrie Irving apologized at this point is to save his face with most of his sponsorships in limbo (starting with Nike) and Joe Tsai of the Brooklyn Nets calling him an unfit person for his organization.

Irving can be entitled to his views but he needs to dial down on the whole "entitled" crap. In the end, people get things because they provide something to a particular set of people, and being a headcase - even with the best of intentions - will not give him any brownie points.

Also, don't promote a book without reading the contents first. Or a movie. Or a song. Or even a person.

Or a shoe.

Nike can ditch Kyrie because of his actions.

I bet his Top 75 claim is also going to be for naught with how his career is panning out.

Irving can feign ignorance or be brave and stay strong to his words but if you read it aloud and you get iffy in the middle of the sentence, then that's going to be a problem.
