KIAN'S BIZARRE B&B | THE FIRST TWO EPISODES

I'm currently in the middle of season one of Kian's Bizarre B&B, and I can't stand it... in the best way possible. This is my first time watching Kian84, and wow—it's a lot.
I'm familiar with Ji Ye Eun because of Running Man. Honestly, I didn’t like her at first; she felt too dainty for the rough-and-tumble world of RM. But her Food Fighter persona won me over. She gives off a more general audience-friendly version of Jeon So Min—less boy-crazy, more boy-crush energy.
I'm not sure if there's a connection between this Netflix show and her sudden slimmed-down appearance on Running Man, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Kian's B&B is chaos—daily habit chaos—and probably burns calories by the minute.
I just remembered that Ye Eun is a questionable cook in RM.
Oh well.
As for Jin, I’ll admit I skipped through most of his segments on Screwballs because they treated him too much like a VIP. But I enjoyed him on Running Man, but as a pompous megastar, and now I get why Screwballs pampered him... because Kian's B&B threw him into the deep end.
I cringe watching him in this show, but not because I hate it. It’s just... imagine expecting a relaxing villa life and ending up in something that feels like Physical 100 meets Takeshi’s Castle.
Again, I am used to seeing in variety shows as a global star.
And Kian84 is a slave driver.
Haha.
For context: I’m fat, afraid of heights, sensitive to mess, and avoid killing living things (unless they bite me) except mosquitoes.
So yes, seeing uncooked rice and their living conditions blew my mind.
That said, I think this show is going to be awesome.
I'm a big fan of Korean variety. I stick to a yearly rotation that includes Running Man, 1N2D, anything with Kim Jong Min, Earth Arcade, Crime Scene, The Devil's Plan, The Bloody Game, and The Zone. I used to keep up with Knowing Bros and Hangout with Yoo, but now I limit my weekly episodes to just RM and 1N2D.
I also binge-watch old episodes from shows like The Great Escape, The Genius, Sixth Sense, Girls’ High School Mystery Class, and Crime Scene. I'm always on the lookout for the next big strategy game variety show. Agents of Mystery flopped for me—it wasn’t the cast, but the way the missions and group dynamics were handled.
But Kian’s B&B? It might just be a hit.
After episode one, I actually Googled whether Jin regretted joining or if he tried to BTS his way out of the contract. Yet the fact that he’s the sanest one on the verge of cracking makes him the funniest.
Na PD must feel the same way about the Earth Arcade girls.
As for Ji Ye Eun, I feel like she’s using this show as her bulk-up arc—preparing herself so she doesn’t go flying the next time Song Ji Hyo gets serious in Running Man.
I just cringe because I know I will NOT survive the madness.
I like the monorail, though.
