Bobby Parks Sr., known as the gold standard of PBA imports, redefined what it meant to dominate the league as a reinforcement. With a potent mix of power, finesse, and basketball IQ, Parks captured a record-tying seven Best Import awards, a feat that still stands as the benchmark for excellence among foreign reinforcements.
From his debut in 1987 to his last tour in 1999, Parks consistently led his teams deep into contention, culminating in four PBA championships and a reputation as an unstoppable force on both ends of the court. Whether he was putting up big scoring nights or mentoring younger locals, Parks’ impact went far beyond the box score.
A third-round pick of the Atlanta Hawks in 1984, Parks made his name internationally—in the Philippines, Indonesia, and France—but it was in the PBA where he became a legend. In 2009, he was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame, becoming just the second American to receive the honor.
