Romeo Travis wasn’t just LeBron James’ high school teammate—he carved out his own legacy overseas, especially in the Philippines. A cerebral, versatile forward who could score, rebound, and facilitate, Travis brought a polished, all-around game to the PBA across multiple stints with Alaska and Magnolia.
His peak came in the 2015 Governors’ Cup, when he led the Alaska Aces to the finals and won Best Import honors for his leadership and consistent production. He returned in 2018 with the Magnolia Hotshots, helping them secure the Governors’ Cup championship—a title that had eluded him three years earlier.
While not the flashiest or most physically dominant among imports, Travis was lauded for his basketball IQ, court vision, and clutch performances, particularly his 50-point explosion in the 2018 semis against Barangay Ginebra. His calm demeanor and ability to fit seamlessly within a team-first system made him a favorite of coaches and fans alike.
