Few imports have matched the longevity, consistency, and loyalty of Sean Chambers, the heart and hustle of the Alaska franchise throughout the '90s. Arriving in 1989, Chambers became synonymous with Alaska basketball, bringing relentless energy, unmatched athleticism, and a team-first mindset.
The highlight of his career came in 1996, when he played a pivotal role in Alaska’s historic Grand Slam run, earning Best Import honors in the Governors’ Cup. Over his 13-season PBA run—all with Alaska—he helped the team to six championships, forming a dynasty alongside Johnny Abarrientos, Jojo Lastimosa, and Bong Hawkins.
More than just stats, Chambers was the soul of the Alaska squad—a leader on and off the court, respected by fans, teammates, and even rivals. In recognition of his impact, Alaska retired his No. 20 jersey, a rare and well-deserved honor for an import who made the Philippines his second home.
