I really hate it when people discount Justin Brownlee because he has proven time and again his worth. The dude has been with Ginebra for all this time, and if you know Tim Cone and his history with his imports, you'd know he's going to spam their talents until they tell him not to.

He did this with Sean Chambers, and he also did it with Marqus Blakely. And if you think he's not going to do this with Justin Brownlee, well, you must have been in a coma from 1990 until now.

Sure, he is the smallest import fielded in the Commissioner’s Cup, but since when has that stopped the naturalized Pinoy from destroying his critics? And judging by his six championships and three Best Import awards, two of his titles and two of those Best Import awards came in the Commissioner’s Cup.

It just so happened that TNT had the perfect roadblock for him in the form of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

So with RHJ out of the picture and with Ginebra getting help at the center spot through the acquisition of Kemark Carino and the return of Isaac Go, I really believe that Ginebra is one of the teams to beat in the coming conference.

But that said, I will raise a concern.

Yes, Ginebra is used to having small imports, and yeah, maybe there is a chance that TNT will falter even with the addition of Bol Bol. The thing about Brownlee is that he’s the only import born in the ’80s. Also, the last time Ginebra won a championship was in the 2022–23 PBA Commissioner’s Cup. Maybe the wear and tear from the EASL and Gilas Pilipinas will mess up Brownlee’s chance to win his seventh PBA championship?

But then again, I just want to see him play first before telling everyone that Ginebra needs to find a replacement for JB.
