NEW YORK BREAKS INTO THE FINALS!

Look, I’m not a New York Knicks fan. But the only worthy rationale behind my Boston Celtics’ loss in the 2026 NBA Playoffs is that they lost to the eventual NBA finalist.
Oh, was that Philadelphia?
Well, I am still in denial!
The fact that they wasted Nikola Vucevic on the sidelines?
Ugh.
I’m still salty about that.
The reason why I don’t write much about the NBA is that I don’t want to jinx Boston.
That went bad.
I hate the fact that they traded away Anfernee Simons for one of my all-time favorites, only to bench him when the games mattered most.
Anyway, regardless of who wins the Western Conference Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder, it’s insane that there will be Filipinos playing against each other in the NBA Finals.
And while, yeah, Jordan Clarkson has been bumped from the little playing time he had during the regular season because of Landry Shamet’s awesome play, Dylan Harper is playing like a 10-year veteran for the Spurs, and Jared McCain is holding the fort for OKC’s bench.
And speaking of Harper and the rest of the Spurs, I think this is the first time my sister has really been invested in the NBA. She's currently residing with her family in Texas, and whoever thought she would turn into an avid basketball fan. I couldn’t even insult her a few weeks back when Wemby got ejected, and she randomly sent me a message about how people there were going to wear nun headgear at the next game.
First off, what a weird way to intimidate OKC.
Also, she’s really that invested.
Now, the other thing I’ve been checking out is Major League Baseball. Ever since I saw the Chicago White Sox city jersey reminiscent of the ’90s Chicago Bulls, along with the awesomeness of Munetaka Murakami, I think I’ve found a new second team in MLB. It didn’t help matters that I just watched the debut game of Rikuu Nishida. I can see why people are comparing him to Ichiro Suzuki.
That said, with the NBA Finals basically two weeks away, I’m going to check out the action now. I know the winner of the West will likely win the championship, but with the way New York masterfully dismantled the Cleveland Cavaliers, anything is possible.
Did I really just quote that famous Kevin Garnett line from when the Celtics won their second-to-last championship?
Dammit... why didn’t they use Vooch?!
