As I was blogging about the defeat of Eumir Marcial, another Philippine bet has bowed out.

Kayla Sanchez ranked seventh in the second semifinal heat of the women's 100-meter freestyle event. I mean, we expected the odds to be stacked in our bet, but the miracle wasn't meant to be.

At least she ended her campaign by shattering the Philippine record.

It's not a good morning for us Filipinos, but hopefully the late afternoon and evening matches will make up for these losses.
